HOW DO I WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP PRIZE?
A. STEP #1. – REGISTER
First you must be a registered league team. So if you haven’t signed you team up yet, go to the TRIVIA LEAGUE section and register your team. It is totally free to sign up, and ALL your info will be kept confidential. So that means you won’t be getting any spam email from us. You will receive venue and league info and updates, as well as any new venues and prize package info that manifest in the future.
*What you will need register your team:
1. A Team Name - this will be your team name throughout the league so think of a good one
2. A Team Captain - they will NOT need to be present during every regular season show, just the team itself, but they WILL need to be present for any and all the post season shows.
3. An Email Address – your info will be kept confidential, and will not be shared outside Last Call, so you won’t be getting those annoying spam emails. We use email as a way of contacting teams to provide league, and venue info, as well as updates, and prize package info.
STEP #2. - PLAY
Second, you will need to play the game. So gather your team* up and proceed down to your favorite participating venue and play some trivia. The score of ALL the league teams will be accumulated on a daily basis. You can check back regularly at the TRIVIA LEAGUE section to see where your team stands amongst the others.
*A quick note about team size. During our off season, the maximum team size is normally 8 players, and will remain that way for all NON-LEAGUE teams. League teams, on the other hand, will have a maximum team size of only 6 players. This rule* will be strictly enforced during the post season.
*Since we are now competing on a much larger scale during the league tournament, our regular rules will be more strictly enforced as well. Specifically Rule #2, the use of outside devices (cell phones, laptops, blackberries, ect); any team, league or non-league caught using any outside device to gain answers will no longer get a warning. They will simply be “86’d” from that show, and their score voided. They can continue to compete in the league, but they will have forfeited that night’s chance to gain points. Let’s all play fair.
STEP #3. - WIN
Lastly, all teams’ scores will be kept, tallied, and displayed regularly in the TRIVIA LEAGUE section. Every team will need to participate in a minimum of 5 shows to be considered for the post season. Every teams’ top 5 scores will be averaged out and at the end of the 12 week regular season, the teams with the highest average will be invited back to participate in the post season. Teams can play as many or as few shows as they like. As long as a team participates in a minimum of 5 shows during the regular season they will automatically be considered for the post season, but their average score must be high enough to qualify for an invite back. The post season is invite only, so the more shows a team plays, the better their chance and securing a spot in the post season.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE HAVE AN “OFF” NIGHT? WILL IT HURT MY TEAMS’ SCORE?
A. Even the best teams have an “off” night now and again. For whatever the reason, an “off” night will only hurt your average score if your team does not have 5 other superior scores under your belt. Now, we recommend that if a team has an “off” night that they simply play another show to even out an “off” night.
DO WE HAVE TO TRAVEL TO A DIFFERENT BAR EACH WEEK TO PLAY?
A. The leagues will be held at every venue, on every night of our regular season. You can play at your favorite bar, or you can travel to any one of our venues and play there as well. Once the regular season is up, and we have invited back teams to participate in the post season, then we will make announcements regarding when and where the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and the League Championship will be held. We will have all this info before the regular season ends, and we will let the qualifying teams know beforehand, so that there will not be any last minute confusion.
DO WE HAVE TO PLAY EVERY WEEK?
A. No. For a team to qualify, they must play a minimum of 5 shows in the regular season. They can play at any of our venues, and their scores will be accumulated accordingly. We will now be giving away prizes to the team that plays the most shows, as well as the team that plays the most different venues. We are currently in 15 venues spanning from Boulder to Brighton to Highlands Ranch. We’re all over town, and gaining more venues every week. While you’re checking your scores, or registering your team, take a look at our “SCHEDULE” section to see where we are, as well as any new venue(s) jumping on in the future.
DO WE HAVE TO REGISTER BEFORE THE LEAGUE BEGINS?
A. A team can register in the TRIVIA LEAGUE section, or at any of our shows, any time during the 12 week regular season, up to Sunday July 25th. All teams must be registered in order to be eligible to compete for the Championship Prize. Since the minimum number of shows that a team must have is 5 shows to be considered for the post season, a team may complete this during the final week of the regular season by playing 5 shows on 5 different nights in one week. Registration will officially close Sunday July 25th. Any teams that attempts to register after that will not be an authorized team, and will not be eligible to compete for the Grand Prize.
ARE THERE LEAGUE DUES THAT NEED TO BE PAID?
A. NO! The Leagues as well as ALL other shows are ALWAYS FREE. There are no league dues that need to be paid, or membership costs to sign up. We simply ask that you show up to any of our shows, at any of our participating venues; sit down, play trivia and have fun.
