FFN: Yes, we have always been social misfits. Three of us have done trivia together since high school.
How did your team get together and what made you attend a Last Call trivia night?
FFN: Most of the team actually grew up together up north…no, not that far north in a state that shall not be named (not referring to denial), but a suburb of Cleveland. After various life choices, we all ended up in Columbus about 15 years ago and lived together for a bit. After a while we moved up to Henderson Rd., near Coaches Bar and Grill. We stumbled, literally, into Coaches one night and joined the trivia night crowd. The rest has been y’all’s displeasure ever since.
How did you come up with your team name?
FFN: Our team name changes week to week, usually it is a play on something we saw in the news or relevant to us, like a birthday joke. Of our two actual current registered names, “Full Frontal Nerdity” and “Dr. Huxtable’s Sleep Study,” the first came from the TV show “Better Off Ted” and the second was a dark humor reference to Bill Cosby’s quaalude use. We figured What would a support group call themselves? thus the name. This was before we realized the extent of that issue.
What is your favorite thing about going to trivia night?
FFN: Trivia night is a backdrop for us, we would be at the bar on Wednesday, even if trivia was not there. Wednesday is the day of week we all committed to to stay in touch with each other. It’s an added bonus for us because we enjoy cutting loose and occasionally thinking up real answers.
What sets Last Call Trivia apart for you?
FFN: We enjoy the atmosphere, the employees have always been great to us, and the occasional $$ rewards are pretty nice, although they never seem to payoff our tabs at the end of the night. So instead, we have been stock piling our winnings and using it to buy high quality steak roasts, dry aging them and then feasting hard once a quarter.
