What’s so great about being a Last Call Trivia host?

Give me a bottle of bourbon and half a chicken, and I’ll conquer the world! My job is to make sure that everyone else does their job, which has to be the easiest job in the world considering the brilliant, hard-working people we have in our Flock. My ultimate goal is to run a company that people are proud to work for. I’m an avid statesman, adventurer, Burner, Broadway aficionado, athlete, and I wear my Cole Haans as often as my cowboy boots. It’s a wonderful life. All Posts

People become Last Call Trivia hosts for a variety of reasons: fame, fortune, the ability to have a beer at work. Personally, I had previously made a resolution to go to new places, meet new people, and get over my fear of public speaking. I had been playing trivia for a good chunk of time when suddenly my brain kicked in and said, “Hey, people do this. They do this for a job!” And my head exploded from a combination of envy and awe. And just like that, I found a way to achieve all of my life goals.

I can’t tell you how awesome it is to get to hang out with a great group of people every time you work. I dare you to find a job that’s more fun and fulfilling. Sometimes though, it can get a little lonely sitting in a position of power, watching teams have a great time. And on those few nights when I feel a little sad watching my friends from afar, teams never fail to surprise me with creativity and humor. They send up answers with jokes, pictures, notes of appreciation, and sometimes they even send beer. Late last year I had one of those nights at Murphy’s in Clifton (Cincinnati) and my teams could tell I needed a little boost. They brought me a hotdog, some popcorn, and sent up a series of answers.

I love my job. And I love the teams and people that make it such an amazing experience.
